The 15th International Conference on Multiple Objective Programming and Goal Programming

The International Conference on Multiple Objective Programming and Goal Programming (MOPGP) is an international conference series devoted to multi-objective programming and goal programming (MOP/GP). This Conference is a forum within which researchers and practitioners can meet and learn from each other about recent development in MOP/GP. Amongst the participants are academicians and practitioners whose common interest is in multi-objective decision analysis.
The first MOPGP conference was held at the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom, June 1994. The second conference was organized by University of Malaga, in Torremolinos, Spain, May 1996. The third was held at the Université Laval, Quebec City, Canada, May-June 1998. The fourth was organized by University of Economics in Katowice and took place at Beskidy Mountains at the south of Poland from 29 May to 1 June 2000. The fifth was organized in Nara, Japan on June 4 – 7, 2002. The sixth was organized by the University of Tunis in Hammamet, Tunisia on April 14-16, 2004. The seventh took place in the EURO Loire Valley, City of Tours, France from 12 to 14 June 2006. The eight edition went back to the University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom from 24 to 26 September 2008. The ninth edition was organized by the University of Sfax on May 24–26, 2010. The tenth edition was organized jointly with the 54th Annual conference of the Canadian Operational Research Society in the wondrous city of Niagara Falls from June 11 to 13, 2012. The eleventh edition took place in Tlemcen (the pearl of the Maghreb), Algeria from 13 to 15 December 2015. The twelfth edition was organized by the University of Lorraine, from 30 to 31 October 2017 in Metz, France. The thirteenth edition took place from 28 to 31 October 2017 in Marrakech, Morocco. The fourteenth edition was organized online by SKEMA Business School, France from 20 to 21 December 2021, and chaired by Davide La Torre. The fifteen edition will be organized by Yaşar University Industrial Engineering Department and co-chaired by Mehrdad Tamiz and Ayhan Özgür Toy. There will be rigorous plenary talks by invited speakers as well as contributed talks. The language of the conference is English.
Professor Mehrdad Tamiz initiated the International Multiple Objective and Goal Programming (MOPGP) conference series in 1994 by chairing its inaugural conference in Portsmouth, UK and remained as Chair of the series until 2012. His desire for the conference series was to create a non-partisan space for open discussions on MOPGP topics and their application, an ethos that continues until the present day. Professor Tamiz gained his first academic position (tenure) at the University of Portsmouth, UK in 1991, following a PhD in Operational Research at Brunel University, UK. More recently, he held professorial positions at the University of Kuwait and Yasar University, Turkey. He published many articles in leading operational research journals and a textbook on the topic of goal programming. Mehrdad was known for his enthusiastic, generous and hospitable character, which resulted in the mentoring and training of many doctoral students and hosting of international visitors. He will be missed by his friends and colleagues in the MCDM community following his sudden death on 31st August 2022.
